I currently work as a commercial manager for Marks & Spencer’s group plc. I joined the company in 2018 after finishing my A-levels on the school leavers programme. This programme supported me to complete a Level 4 Retail Management apprenticeship.
After recently receiving a distinction in this I then decided I wanted to carry on learning. I always worried about my future, particularly if I would be at a disadvantage for not choosing to go to university. So, I decided to look into what learning I could begin next.
After spending time with my manager discussing my interests and future aspirations I found ICS Learn. I chose to study for a Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply as my goals for the future are to become a head category buyer.
ICS Learn seemed like a perfect fit for me as I currently work full time as a commercial manager so I needed to find learning that suited my needs and availability.
ICS Learn has allowed me to study whenever I have the time to do so, this works great around my job and life. The payment scheme is also great compared to a lot of other companies which are currently available.
I of course, like anyone had my reservations about learning online. However, ICS learn provide you with a 14 day trial period and if you don’t like it you don’t have to carry on. I think this in itself really puts your mind at ease and helps you to feel more confident about enrolling.
I have found my course interesting so far and my tutor is available to help whenever I need.
The first week I joined I was invited to a webinar where I was able to meet a group of other people who had started the same course as myself which was great.
Enrolling on this course has definitely given me more confidence when applying for roles which I may have before not have felt equipped for.
After completing my course I hope to go on to study a Level 5 Diploma with ICS Learn. This will then provide me with the skills and knowledge needed to enter a career as a buyer for an online retailer.
I would recommend ICS learn as the learning provided will fit around you, you don’t have to worry about completing a module or exam by a strict time period as you’re the one who chooses these time periods. It takes the pressure off learning and allows you to take control.
